FRIENDSHIP MEALS

Friendship Meals are a necessary point of contact for our international students, and we need you to draw them in! Crossing cultural lines to engage potential world leaders in spiritual discussions can happen at a table right here in the Twin Cities. We just need the food and the hands to make it happen.
Please note that we are currently doing Cultural Friendship Meals, these are smaller (but more often) COVID-19 protocol friendly alternatives to the large group Friendship Meals. We plan to return to our Friendship Meals schedule. We would love to have you join us at a Cultural Friendship Meal currently, or at a Friendship Meal in the future!

Discussion Group Facilitators

Picture
Friendship Meal Discussion Group Facilitator is a unique opportunity to build friendship with international students. You will lead students in answering a few questions concerning the topic of the evening. This helps our guests reflect upon the message we want to communicate, and it will help them interact with new friends as an authentic level and deepen our community.

For each Friendship Meal, we need 10 volunteers to facilitate small group discussions. Chinese speakers are highly sought after for your ability to converse with the older generation that does not speak English!

Church Involvement

Will your church create space for international friendships by providing a meal? We need 2 churches (6-8 volunteers per church) to provide the monthly meal. Your responsibility is simply to feed the stomachs and hearts that attend. This will include setup, tear down, preparing food, serving food, and engaging with international students.
