Besides the Superbowl, Valentine’s Day is the biggest event of American culture in February. As you may know, it is usually a celebration of love between dating or married couples. At our February Friendship Meal, Feb. 18, beginning with a meal at 6 p.m., our guests will have the opportunity to hear a discussion of the Bible’s teaching about real authentic love and how it can transform your most important relationships.
Chinese university students, visiting scholars and family members are invited each month as our special guests. The meal is provided at no charge and no reservation is required. We hope you can join us!

Karaoke!
Speaking of Karaoke... One of our Chinese friends supplied us with a Karaoke setup with THOUSANDS of Chinese song selections and a small sprinkling of popular American ones too. We will open up HCC to discover the next “UM Chinese Idol” contestant winner. If we find some Chinese friends who want to do this on a regular basis and could handle being event organizers, we’ll definitely consider opening HCC on weekends as a place to relax after a demanding week of studies and research.
monthly events
Friendship Meals
Friendship Meals are a special monthly event at HCC. Chinese students, scholars and their families and American friends come together for a dinner and program. The dinners are provided by local churches and are free. The programs vary -- sometimes we have a special speaker or an interactive group game. We also celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas together with traditional food and music.
Friendship Meals are held on the 3rd Saturday of each month (September - May). Dinner begins at 6:00 pm. After dinner we provide free childcare. The dinners are held at HCC. Rides are available, just ask in advance and we'll come pick you up!
